Texas mom of victim from Santa Fe school shooting launches bid for Congress SANTA FE, Texas (Nexstar) — Rhonda Hart, whose daughter was killed in the 2018 mass shooting at Santa Fe High School, announced Fridays she is running for Congress.Hart said she was already keen on political involvement, but her activism took a turn after the death of her daughter at the hands of a teenaged gunman who used his father's firearms. Since that tragedy, Hart has been focused on getting safe gun storage laws passed at the state and federal level.The Democrat plans to challenge incumbent U.S. Rep. Randy Weber, R-Friendswood, who has held the deep red, Galveston-area seat since 2013. EMS said 'data event' affected personal information of patients WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) -- On Monday, Williamson County EMS said a "data event" may have affected patients' "privacy of personal information," according to a county news release.On Aug. 10, EMS Management and Consultants, Inc. (EMS|MC) mailed notice letters to patients for a transition of their accounts as the new billing vendor for Williamson County EMS. However, during the mailing process, officials said the letter was mailed "as the ambulance point of pickup rather than the home address of the patient."EMS|MC notified Williamson County EMS and is working closely to notify those who were affected, the release said. The mis-mailed letters included patients' name, medical account number, incident number, date of transport and the balance due.Furthermore, officials encourages people affected to "remain vigilant against incident of identity theft."You can read the full notice of the data event here.

(NEWS10)--- New York State is seeing an increase in RSV---a respiratory virus, that typically resembles the common cold.According to New Your State Department of Health data, RSV started increasing at a faster rate than COVID in late October.Dr. Nosa Aigbe Lebarty of CentralMed Urgent Care said the concern is the number of people getting it."Before it used to be mostly only kids, but now it’s everyone," said Lebarty." Both adults, children, as well as geriatric patients. O'Fallon clock tower shooter identified after fatal shoot-out O'FALLON, Mo. - Police shot and killed a suspect after shots were fired just outside O'Fallon City Hall. He is identified as 34-year-old Douglas Alan Phipps.Phipps is accused of firing shots at the clock tower just feet from O'Fallon City Hall Sunday afternoon. There is damage to three of the four sides of the clock.A resident who lives near City Hall told FOX 2 that they heard the gunshots. Police said that they don't know why the individual was firing shots at the clock tower. Man admits shooting women, one fatally, during carjackings ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis man appeared in federal court on Monday and admitted to a pair of carjackings in the summer of 2022, one of which was fatal.Prosecutors with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Missouri said Loyse Dozier, 21, committed the crimes over a three-week period in July and August 2022.The first carjacking took place on July 10 at the Raqqa Mart, located in the 300 block of Chambers Road in Riverview.The victim, Laruth Jones, was standing near the store entrance when she saw Dozier, who was wearing a full-face mask, enter her Mercedes CLA 250. Jones, who was armed, went out to confront Dozier.Dozier and Jones exchanged gunfire, and Jones was killed. Dozier took Jones' firearm and fled in the stolen Mercedes. The vehicle was later found torched in a St. Louis alley.
