MoDOT’s Emergency Response Team celebrates 30th anniversary ST. LOUIS – When the Missouri Department of Transportation’s Emergency Response Team first took to area roadways, it was to help with a battery jump or provide a stranded motorist with a gallon of gas.In 1993, there were eight operators and one supervisor on the team, working morning and afternoon rush hours.“On Interstate 70, 64, and Interstate 270,” said Tom Blair, MoDOT District Engineer for St. Louis. “Now, 30 years later, we have 20 operators and three supervisors and patrol 225 miles of roadways, and we do it 24-7.”They’re the crews that move incidents and clear vehicles from lane and shoulders, contributing to more efficient traffic flow, saving drivers gas and time, as well as reducing congestion and emissions. Movie theater to leave San Francisco Centre after Westfield departure (KRON) -- Another business has announced it will be leaving San Francisco Centre after Westfield's decision to pull out of operating the biggest mall in the city. Stern Grove Festival returns this Sunday with free summer concerts (BCN) -- The Stern Grove Festival will kick off its 86th season of free concerts at San Francisco's Sigmund Stern Recreation Grove this Sunday. Jazz fusion band Snarky Puppy and guitarist Isaiah Sharkey will be the first performers of the summer. Movie theater to leave San Francisco Centre after Westfield departure Concerts will continue weekly on Sundays until Aug. 20 and feature the Indigo Girls, the San Francisco Symphony, The Flaming Lips and more.
