Traffic stop ends in firearm, drug arrest in Johnstown

JOHNSTOWN, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Two people were arrested after being pulled over by Johnstown Police around 12:17 a.m. on Sunday. Thomas Jordan (41, Fonda) and Alyssa Davenport (33, Broadalbin) each face several charges. Get the latest news, weather, sports and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! On Sunday, around 12:17 a.m., officers pulled over a 2007 Hyundai Sante Fe for a traffic violation. Police identified Jordan as the driver and Davenport as the passenger. Law enforcement says there was also a juvenile in the back seat.During an investigation, police say they found a loaded, illegally possessed, .380 caliber handgun in the car with illegal drugs. ST. CHARLES, Mo. -- The St. Charles County Council is voicing its opinion on the idea of Latin American immigrants being resettled in the area. A resolution opposing any plans goes up for a vote tonight. It states that the St. Charles County Council is "Strongly opposed to the importation of illegal immigrants into the region based on current federal and state statutes that make their unlawful entry into the United States a criminal offense."The resolution points out statements from Mayor Tishaura Jones about possibly working with Chicago and the International Institute to welcome immigrants and refugees to the St. Louis area. MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. -- The person who died in a serious crash last week has been identified as former Maryland Heights Councilman Gavin Park. According to our partners at The Post-Dispatch, the 44-year-old died Tuesday afternoon when the pickup truck he was driving rear-ended a call-a-ride van. This happened on northbound Highway 141 near Creve Coeur Mill Road.Police say the van was stopped at a stop light when Park ran into the back of it. A man who led authorities on a pursuit died after jumping off a freeway interchange in Riverside Sunday night.Police responded to a welfare check on a possible distraught man in the University neighborhood around 8:45 p.m., Riverside Police Department public information officer Ryan Railsback said. A pursuit came to an end on the 60/215/91 freeway interchange in Riverside on Nov. 26, 2023. Disneyland guests on “It’s a Small World” got an unexpected and unwelcome show Sunday when a man stripped nearly naked and got up close and personal with some of the set pieces on the iconic ride.Officers with the Anaheim Police Department responded to the theme park at around 1:30 p.m. to assist Disney security with the incident.
