Hannah Waddddingham is an Emmy-winning actress best known for her role as Rebecca Welton in "Ted Lasso."Just recently the role earned her another Golden Globe nomination and her reaction summed up how anyone would feel about the honor. "WHAAAAAAAAT THE FUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!! I’ve died and gone to heaven!" she posted to X, formerly Twitter. " I AM SHOOKETH!!!!! Thank you SO, SO MUCH. This list is the greatest gift! Thank you for including me. I’m FLOORED!"When the actress caught up with KTLA 5's Sam Rubin, she doubled down on her reaction. "I don't know how anyone keeps cool with these things," she explained. "I feel like I'm 12 and someone says, 'Oh. You've been invited into this grown-up world. Try and act cool.' I don't know how anyone just goes 'Oh, yes. It's absolutely fine.' It's epic!""It's like a ridiculous win-win situation. If you lose against Meryl Streep, you're like it's Meryl Streep. If you win, you collapse. If somebody else somebody else wins and Meryl Streep doesn't...Review: Maestro

Like its protagonist, the American conductor, composer, and pianist Leonard Bernstein, Maestro can’t decide to be one thing. It’s a snapshot of an artist that doesn’t seem terribly interested in his art, and a love story in which one of the partners suffers at the hands of the other. Bradley Cooper co-wrote the screenplay with Josh Singer, directs, and stars alongside Carey Mulligan, who plays his wife Felicia Montealegre Cohn, a Broadway actress. It premieres on Netflix on the 20th.Bernstein made his sensational conducting debut for the New York Philharmonic in 1943, an event which shot him into the public eye and launched a career that included major works in ballet, opera, film scoring, and musical theater. In the early scenes shot in silvery black-and-white, Cooper captures the excitement of the New York bohemian scene with verve, executing some vertiginous, digitally enhanced long takes to communicate the character’s self-discovery. By the time Felicia arrives, the backdrop to ...Luis Guinto Pronounced Dead after Rollover Crash on Highway 41 [Fresno, CA]

A lawsuit filed Wednesday says the U.S. government violated the First Amendment when it prevented a U.S.-based organization from hosting people sanctioned by the U.S. as speakers at a conference earlier this year. The suit, if successful, could have far-reaching implications for placing federal limits on freedom of speech when sanctioned or otherwise designated people or groups are involved. The complaint, filed by Columbia University’s Knight First Amendment Institute, argues that the decision made by the Office of Foreign Assets Control could have consequences for public discourse, including whether news outlets could publish interviews with individuals designated under U.S. sanctions law.For the lawyers bringing the suit, the current curtailment of speech based on sanctions amounts to the policing of thought. “The question at the core of the case is what control the U.S. government has over the American mind and whether it can effectively insulate Americans from ideas and peo...Industrial Killing of Civilians in Gaza Won’t Defeat the Armed Insurgency

For more than two months, the White House has engaged in a public campaign of gaslighting as it has feigned concern over the fate of Gaza’s 2.3 million residents while simultaneously maintaining the flow of weapons, intelligence, and political cover to an Israeli regime that has made clear its intent to “flatten” Gaza and force its intentionally dehumanized survivors into an ever-shrinking killing cage.President Joe Biden, facing historically low popularity heading into the 2024 election, reportedly now wants Israel to move to a “less kinetic” phase of its war by early next year. This is simply the latest effort by t...Latest news
