DENVER (KDVR) -- On Monday, two industry associations sued in an attempt to stop the release of gray wolves in Colorado.The federal lawsuit was filed by the Colorado Cattlemen's Association and the Gunnison County Stockgrowers' Association. It names the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Colorado Parks and Wildlife as defendants. The Miami Marlins teamed up with another organization and stepped up to the plate to help some families have a happier holiday.The baseball team gave back to the community they love and scored a grand slam with children.Christmas came early for some lucky children thanks to the Miami Marlins. A construction crime recently targeted a charitable cause when Habitat for Humanity’s MetroWest/Greater Worcester chapter said roughly $9,000 of tools were taken from one of its construction sites. The Habitat for Humanity chapter in a statement on Monday said the theft happened at a construction site on Sunderland Road in Worcester on the night of Dec. 5. In this case, Habitat for Humanity said, the padlocks on two trailers were found cut and tossed on the ground. Among the items stolen were 10 cordless impact drivers, valued at $1,190; two nail guns, valued at $718; a hammer drill, valued at $399; and an impact wrench valued at $349. Habitat for Humanity said many of the tolls were essential and used every day at the affordable housing project underway at the Sunderland Road site. RAMONA, Calif. -- A 59-year-old man crossing the street against a "Don't Walk" sign Sunday was killed when he was struck by a vehicle in Ramona, authorities said.The crash occurred around 6:15 a.m. on state Route 67 (Main St.) near the intersection of 14th Street, Officer Jared Grieshaber with the California Highway Patrol said in a news release Monday.A 23-year-old woman driving a 2023 Nissan Altima in the No. 2 lane on SR-67 crashed into the pedestrian, according to authorities. The man, who has yet to be identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. KEARNY MESA, Calif. -- San Diego police are investigating four armed robberies that all occurred Saturday night within an hour of each other and only a few miles apart. Another similarity, the businesses are all located right off of a freeway entrance and the suspects all appeared to be teenagers wearing black masks.
