AUSTIN (KXAN) — A scaley visitor was spotted in Central Texas this week. A gator was found in a ditch Monday near La Grange in Fayette County, according to the Fayette County Sheriff's Office. It was spotted on FM 2145 near Citzler Road."The rain has definitely washed in some things you don’t see every day in Fayette County!" the sheriff's office said on Facebook. AMSTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Fire investigators and law enforcement are investigating a fatal fire that broke out in the second-floor apartment of 42 Stewart Street. David L. Crandall, 43, who was a resident of the apartment succumbed to the fire. Get the latest, news, weather, sports and community events delivered right to your inbox! The fire reportedly broke out on Monday evening. The Amsterdam Fire Department and Amsterdam Police Department responded. Firefighters began to douse the flames while police managed the scene and interviewed witnesses. One witness told police that he was a resident of the second-floor apartment and that his roommate was still inside. Fire personnel located Crandall inside the apartment but Crandall had passed away.Investigations are ongoing but the cause of the fire does not appear to be suspicious. HORICON, N.Y. (NEWS10) - On Sunday, New York State Forest Rangers responded to an active fire in the town of Horicon. A fire was reported on Palisades Road, which runs along Brant Lake.Rangers found that the fire began as a structure fire, but spread into an adjacent area of wildlands after lighting some nearby woods.
