DENVER (KDVR) – Increasing clouds with a chance of snow overnight along with breezy conditions are on the way. It will dry out by Tuesday afternoon with lingering clouds. Blizzard, high wind warnings in Eastern Colorado Weather tonight: Chilly, breezy and some snowTemperatures are expected to drop down into the upper teens and lower 20s as we get ready for a little bit of snow in the metro area. The snow will happen mainly after 11 p.m. Monday and will continue on and off through early Tuesday. The metro area will see less than an inch. It will be breezy as well with gusts up to 40 mph! Speaking of breezy conditions, a Blizzard Warning is in effect for areas along the eastern plains that stretch from Burlington to Castle Rock. The far eastern plains will get 4-9" of snowfall with gusts up to 60 mph, meanwhile, areas around Castle Rock will get 2-4". DENVER (KDVR) -- Hundreds of flights were delayed and canceled over the Christmas holiday at the Denver International Airport.According to FlightAware, at least 414 were delayed and 37 were canceled at DIA on Christmas Eve. Blizzard, high wind warnings in Eastern Colorado On Christmas Day, another 261 were delayed and 19 were canceled.Most of the delayed flights were on Southwest, followed by United, SkyWest and Frontier.Southwest and SkyWest each had eight flights canceled on Christmas.Denver was also the airport with the most flights delayed and canceled on Christmas Day.Avianca flight turns back to MIA due to cracked windshield

Two dangerous drives changed lives for families as Christmas Day approached.One man ended up spending Christmas in the hospital, while another ambushed on Christmas Eve did not survive. Christmas got off to a violent start in Boston Monday, with two stabbings reported in a matter of minutes, according to police. The first incident happened in Government Center, outside the Wolfgang’s Steakhouse and across from a veterans home. Police said a person was stabbed multiple times and investigators were later seen roping off the sitting area outside Wolfgang’s. Inside the crime scene, an electric Chanukah menorah was spotted. BEIJING (AP) — A distillery in southwestern China is aiming to tap a growing taste among young Chinese for whisky in place of the traditional “baijiu” liquor used to toast festive occasions. (WTVO) -- Rockford police say an officer shot a man early Sunday morning.It happened around 2:00 am on Christmas Eve in the 1300 block of Charles Street, near UW Health SwedishAmerican.According to the Winnebago County State's Attorney's Office review of the initial faces, officers were called by a resident of an apartment who claimed her neighbor was saying things like "help me" and "kill me" repeatedly.Officers were able to gain access to the apartment and were immediately encountered by Patrick Kirby at the door, who had a knife and boxcutter in his hands, police said.Officers commanded Kirby to drop the weapon, but he continued to advance, and one officer fired three rounds, killing Kirby.The Winnebago Boone County Integrity Task Force was called in to investigate.
