BERKELEY — A Berkeley man has been charged with felony assault for allegedly attacking an Amazon delivery driver, chipping the victim’s tooth, court records show.The 30-year-old Berkeley resident was arrested Nov. 27 and charged two days later with felony assault likely to produce great bodily injury. SAN JOSE — Police have arrested three men in connection to an August gang-related shooting in San Jose, according to authorities.The shooting in question took place around 9:37 p.m. on Aug. 24 at the 1500 block of Alum Rock Avenue, but all suspects had left the scene by the time officers arrived. The victim was identified later, after they drove themself to a hospital with a non-life threatening injury.According to police, an investigation revealed that the shooting was gang related. Three suspects were identified, though police did not immediately reveal how they had come to pinpoint the trio.The police department later obtained search and arrest warrants for each suspect. Tommy Tuberville of Alabama said Tuesday he is releasing the bulk of his holds for Senate votes to confirm military promotions.Tuberville told his colleagues in a closed-door meeting on Capitol Hill that he will release the promotions for three-star nominees and below, the vast majority of the nominees.The move comes after he faced bipartisan pressure to cease his blanket hold on military promotions over a Defense Department reproductive rights policy. Tuberville’s hold started in March and delayed the confirmations of more than 450 top military nominees.Tuberville made the announcement that he was backing off the military holds with the exception of fewer than a dozen four star promotions during Senate lunch. (KRON) -- At least one person died in a possible multi-vehicle collision on northbound Interstate Highway 680 near the unincorporated community of Pacheco on Tuesday morning, according to the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District. At about 9:30 a.m., fire crews responded to a call about a crash between state Highway 4 and the Pacheco Boulevard off-ramp, according to fire district spokesman Capt. Chris Toler. Drivers are being advised to find alternate routes.Investigators did not say what caused the crash or when lanes may reopen. (BCN) -- A man was robbed and shot in San Francisco's Lower Pacific Heights neighborhood on Monday, according to police.The shooting was reported shortly before 11:30 a.m. Monday in the area of Pine and Octavia streets, where two suspects approached a man in his 20s, San Francisco police said. A fight inside a McDonald’s restaurant last month left a young person injured and police have now arrested four Alexandria, Virginia, teens in the assault and robbery.It happened on the morning of Nov. 13. at 3646 King St., according to a news release from police.Police were initially called about the fighting at the restaurant just after 8:45 a.m.A person who had been robbed and assaulted was found outside the restaurant and brought to the hospital, police said.Police didn’t identify any of the suspects or the victim, outside of specifying everyone involved is under the age of 18.Two of the people involved were charged with assault; two were charged with robbery and assault.Police have asked anyone with information about the incident to contact Det.
