PETERSBURG, Fla. — For the second straight outing, A’s rookie pitcher Shintaro Fujinami was nearly flawless for the first couple of innings. For the second straight time, though, he quickly ran into trouble that led to a lopsided Oakland defeat. On Saturday, Fujinami took a no-hitter into the fourth inning before things fell apart as Tampa Bay scored five runs off him on its way to an 11-0 victory. In roughing up Fujinami, the Rays (8-0) extended Major League Baseball’s best start in 20 years behind Jeffrey Springs’ seven innings of three-hit ball and Randy Arozarena’s four RBIs.Fujinami (0-2) allowed five runs, three hits, four walks and hit a batter over 4 1/3 innings in his second major league start. The right-hander didn’t allow a hit until Wander Franco’s infield single with one out in the fourth.Related ArticlesOakland Athletics | Streaking Rays chase Waldichuk, make Athletics their latest victim Oakland Athletics | ...
